Kinnaird Castle is a magnificent castle, home of the Earl and Countess Southesk. Their magnificent home has 2 seperate apartments where guests can stay (MacDuff and Barony), For larger parties and Corporate Events, some of the main castle rooms including the Games Room, Dining Room and Drawing Room can be used.
The castle has been in the family for over 600 years and lies amidst 1300 acres of magnificent walled parkland nestled between the unspoiled Angus coastline and the gently rolling glens. Opportunities for sightseeing and golf abound in this largely undiscovered and sunny county. Many guests never want to leave the estate itself, embarking on miles of varied walks through open countryside and woodlands dotted with follies, watching rare natural species and enjoying the tremendous fishing and shooting.
Activities: There are golf courses suitable for every level of golfer. Carnoustie, the Open venue, is 25 minutes away and other picturesque courses include Edzell, Montrose, Strathmore and Letham Grange (all within 20 minutes). Even St Andrews is under one hour away. For those who enjoy walking, the glens of Angus offer some of the prettiest scenery in Scotland, gentle bracken covered hills with birch copses stretching up to the Highlands. Best of all is that they are not overcrowded with tourists. If more dramatic scenery is sought, Royal Deeside is just 45 minutes drive over the Cairn O’ Mount and the ski resorts are easily accessible. (Glenshee is just over one hour away.)
